I was thinking of that very thing. haha Have one made already. but keep flipping the coin as of now. lol

I've been playing around with other coils to replace the infamous Prestolite "Blues" found on the XL-76's and such. I have some that are running well on the original Prestolites, others I have baked to bring back to life (somewhat) and others just plain dead. A lot of trial and error and I think I have found a winner. The carb on the saw is an SDC-81 with the accelerator pump. It needed a complete overhaul including pump and new check valve. Coil is off of a little Frontier - Repco with external trigger(?). Rigged up a bracket to mount the coil. First test in wood. Might have to play with the timing a bit more. No key and flywheel advanced a fair bit with respect to the original coil. Ideally, I would have liked to use a light and time it properly. No light, just trial and error.

These are very strong saws and can cut fast in the softwood around here.

I would like to know what the following homelites are... The older 3 anyways. I believe they are 1950's era, one says model 600D and the other is a model 17 and the other says WIZ. I would like to know cc's and hp specs if anybody knows for each. I'm going to get them running again as I got them from my Uncle Kenny as they were his dads who is my grandpa. They went from my grandpa to his wifes brother. So there family saws Thanks. I found some info, but the WIZ doesn't say model 55, 66 or 80 so is there anyway to find out? Thats the one with the orange serial number.
