Super cool! Yours? I'd like to pick up a spare or two to keep with the saw.

I have a 200 Classic on the bench in need of a fuel cap...if you are not familiar with this model the fuel cap has a primer built in.

Is there any sort of work-around for the fuel cap, or should I just plug the line and pull the starter a few more times?

Does anyone have a good IPL that shows how the primer is connected to the carburetor? I will assume the line for the primer is supposed to be long enough that is also serves as a tether?

Any insights will be appreciated.

I snagged this photo off eBay.

@heimannm
here ya go, the primer hose has the tendency to twist or kink a lot so it doesnt do much, i never use it, it plugs in under the h & l, i just give it a few extra pulls to start, i use this saw on the regular great saw, its my main limbing saw.

Thank you for those photos. I did look at some fuel caps on eBay which leads me to believe I can use one of these primers that I already have with the cap off another saw.

Hopefully I will have a chance to get into that saw later next week and see what I can come up with. The guy who owns the saw (actually he left 3 saws, the 200 Classic, a "33 Ranger", and an SEZ AO) also left this from another saw.

I'll clean it up and study it a bit to try and determine what's going on with the lines to the carburetor.

He really wanted the Ranger to be operational again, but at 90 PSI compression I expect it is too far gone to be practical.

Finished my my line up, 350-750 series homelite, I have a standard 650 in peices that I will be working on next, it's missing a few parts but will complete the full line up, I couldn't fit the first 360 series in the pic not enough room on the bench.

Hey men; need a little help to ID which XL auto this is I'm wondering if it's one of the 74cc xl's. Like the 550 or 660 listed on Acres site. Other question is what years did they use what I call the Christmas colors as on this saw. I'll include a pic of the ID tag which say XL but includes no model number other than the B prefix ahead of the serial number.20240418_070728.jpg If difficult to read the tag says, B 2370708.

It's a strong running saw, but I don't want to just 20240418_071302.jpgimagine it's the bigger cc model. And it's not enough of a burning question that I want to take it apart and measure it. Lol

So theres no date code for the 7 digit serial numbers for homelite, the only thing we have to go on is Joyce's sales records, her & her husband were homelite dealers for over 50 years and she kept a log book of all the saws they sold, she passed away a few years ago, and we use her log book as an estimated DOM because she logged when they received the saw & when it was sold, so according to Joyce's sales records, 2376902 was received on 5/26/67, sold on 11/14/1967, so that's gotta put your saw in the 67 range. Hope that helps.

I was able to stop in and see Joyce Wilson a couple of times as I was traveling across Indiana. Wonderful, professional lady. She gifted me a large collection of Chain Saw Age and Power Equipment Trade magazines that I keep in my library.

Thats awsome @heimannm , I got some parts from her when she was on HOH, a wonderful lady for sure, thankfully one of the members there purchased all her inventory after she passed, so it didn't end up in the scrap yard, her log book is still available there, for all to view, she was truly an asset to the homelite community.
