HELP! Homelite DM 50 interchange with the 550 ?

I was asked to fix the starter on DM 50. Looks like it would be best to replace àll the starter cover - recoil assy. Pics on eBay the 550 look the same. Can anyone here confirm 1 way or the other ?

I think they're pretty much the same except I think the DM50 starter has an extra shield in it and possibly a different spring. I've got a DM50 parts rig in the shop - I'll take a look at that starter tonight.

I hate to ask the obvious question but have you compared the part numbers in a ipl for the DM50 and 550? If you do not have the parts list I can look but I am betting Leon hax them on his site. If not I bet Ray has them and can email them. I will tell you that Homelite like to change numbers as fast as some change undies but at least it is a start.
