Ouch, that's a bummer Frank. It looks like the cylinder cleaned up pretty well. As mentioned above, the pistons are expensive. You might see what Phil's saw shop is asking for a piston. They've been the cheapest in this area for me.

I'll check them out. One saw shop here, I can't stand to go to. The other isn't bad, but rarely have much for parts on hand.
Phils is in Florence if I remember correctly?

Yessir, Florence. Myrtle Creek saw shop overall has been the cheapest for me but they're a long drive away. You might ask Spike60 on what he can price wise.

Sorry that it happened Frank, but you were doing a wonderful good deed. Sometimes we're challenged in that way.

It looks really good now. Good luck!

I'd run it. When I've asked about cyl. that look similar, I was told it'll fill up w/ carbon and be fine (by multiple trusted peeps).

So I'm curious, did the person that fueled it/ roached it offer to help with fixing? I personally would have felt horrible and would need to contribute to the fix.

Not sure whether or not they knew they did. Luckily it was right at the end of the day... I think he made about 10 cuts through 22-26" logs after filling it. Said it just stopped on him twice...but restarted right up. If we would have had much more to do...I'm sure the results would have been much worse.
Finished getting picked up...grabbed something to drink..then decided to pull the plug out to take a quick gander. He had left by this time..didn't say a word, and don't plan on it. *s-word happens, and he was there to help. I'll just chock it up to me not paying enough attention.
For some reason, the coaches wife put straight gas, for the splitter, right next to my table and gas jug. I'm sure that is where the mixup happened.

Last night my friend and I had to rescue a guy that straight gassed a 90 horse Johnson outboard. His pregnant wife and toddler that were with him were not thrilled.

I suppose that happens more often now with older motors. Now there are so many outboards that are either oil injected or 4 strokes. People probably don't think about it all that much. However, an outboard cost a lot more than a chainsaw.

It was an 80's motor. He is inexperienced with boats and forgot the oil when he filled the tank. I figure it was about 100:1 mix. It made it about 3 miles.
