This 036 saws sucks! Mfer dumps gas on my hand. Looks like tonight will be a JB Weld thing. I have dees now in red rubba top chit for nasty fuels!
Pic coming of tank vents. They are same size as the smaller type from Stihl. They like 066's and stuffs.

Question is does my small base have one in there factory. It looks like a grub screw in the tower part imo. If so the umbrella might not be there from the factory idk for sure but trying not to break my tank. Saw is very nice. I have a ragged 360 that needs a case brake pin repair or another case. No need for a big saw. Light weight was my plan with a wide fast cut.

Inside this tank is flat with a tiny keyhole shape. Nothing I found looks like that. It could maybe be fitted with an umbrella from the factory. No way to know without getting the black tower off it in one piece.

I guess they just push on and a very tight fit, maybe even a lip it pushes over.
The reason I say this is, I have a 026 that never had one when I got it. I looked at the ipl and with the serial # I needed a white thing on the top, also one of them red flaps in the tank one way valve things.
I fitted them and it leaks less than before. But the white thing is still easy to pop off.

but on a side note there was a bulletin for a 200t, some tank vent white thing it leaked. They had a mod kit (not cheap) that replaced the old design. I tried to fit it to the silly 044 tank vent (plastic tube with two grub screws in.) Well it never worked as there was no place for the white cup thing with the lid on to sit/hide..

Those kits suck imo.
I want a leak free tank, period. Looks like the 360 Pro tank is coming off and I'll go from there. That one I will cut up if needed. I'll get you a pick of my saws set up with no leaks. You can cut upside down with any of them. It seems odd but you get some odd angles up a tree. The first time the 066 pissed on me up a tree they all got fixed. My saws idol upside down and cut. If not they don't go up the tree on in a lift.

I have put a peice of fuel line in the hole that the grub screw vent fits on and set a poulan duck bill valve in it, bingo leak free.
