Note that this one is a single, ‘U’-shaped piece, which is different from the one in Post# 2 and #6.

More info in that thread, including instructions.

I have 1 of these. They cut to the chase for checking clearance. I like how it fits and feels. No second guessing.
The "More INFO" Part at the bottom of the pics,,, I would like to read that. The only draw back I have is verifying .025" or .030 , I usually just grab a different gauge to double check.
EDIT
"It showed up as I was posting this" thanks

I'm here for the sick'n twisted company

Wow! Somehow I missed this post!
Was focused on the older, Oregon models!

Up on ebay, and Conrad has it in stock too.
Thanks for following up on this.

Lots of good information in that link, but not available in the US.

(I like how eBay translates the brand name ’Pferd’ to ‘Horse’!)

‘Rather than relying on numerical scales, this gauge features a dial screw that allows you to make stepless adjustments to the filing angle—tailoring it to your specific feel and preference—while simultaneously visualizing and verifying the setting. The starting point is set at approximately 0.2 mm ("Hard & Hard"), with a 3/4 setting at 1.7 mm; settings beyond this range are also possible.

It is compatible with all pitches, gauges, and sequences. For those who prefer to manage settings numerically, simply measure a single cutter using a caliper to determine the precise numerical value, and then align the dial accordingly.

The third image provides a comparison between a brand-new C85 cutter and the gauge's starting point.’

That's too bad. I was hoping for a metal one. A plastic one won't work the same, especially a 3D printed one, which this appears to be. I wish you the best

Even plastic one works as a checker. This is the first test step for achieving metal one having numerical number but it needs quite higher price for low volume with precision. I just now opened the door closed for about 70yrs by OREGON.

Pferd says "The depth gauge should avoid contact with the file wherever possible, as this can alter the dimensional accuracy".
I don’t file on any of my depth gauge tools.

If the tool is soft, the file could damage it.

If the tool is hard, it could wear the file faster .

Place. Check. File.
