Arch fights wrap…jeeps are spring under so they don’t wrap. Anti wrap bars have to be added when going spring over for lift/flex.

Flat springs with blocks are the worst. The taller the block, the more leverage the axle has on the spring.

Desert race trucks have lots of thin leaves, lots of arch, sometimes converted to spring under.

I'll take your word for it.
Other than 2 different half tons with an added 2" lift leaf, my 85 with 4" springs are the only non factory spring packs I have had in trucks, but they all hopped like crazy just like my 06, 12 and 13 3/4 tons once they really got to spinning.

I should say that spring under fights wrap too, along with having to put arch in to get them under the axle.

This ‘11 chatters only at first in sand. If I pitch it sideways a little and romp it quick to get them broken loose spinng fast quick and get past the chatter RPM it’s ok. Boostin and roostin

Lots of thin leaves make for a flexible soft spring but still able to handle load. Could totally see that in a desert racer.

Whole different ball game when your pushing 8'6" of snowplow with 6"+ on the ground! Lose too much traction and there you will sit with a rather large pile of snow to your front you can no longer just drive through!

Used to have a square burb that had nice leaves on all 4 corners. It rode impressively well.

In spite of a few hiccups, more progress has been made on the truck. It's a bit more crowded under the hood, but hopefully next weekend the shock mounts will get welded on, brakes bled, p/s system filled, and the rest of the sheet metal bolted on so it can drive on outta there!

Dammit Steve!! That thing won't give you a break!

Yeah, but with the help of some pretty smart 300-6 guys I got it 110% figured out.

Long story short, both engines got camshafts that were boxed wrong. My cranking compression was 30psi higher than it should have been and with extremely early intake valve closing my DCR went through the roof at 2000rpm. That why both these engines beat themselves to death.

Tomorrow I'm going to find out how much a custom grind cam is going to set me back!

I'm glad to hear it's solved.

Spoke with Schneider camshaft in San Diego today and he knew exactly what I am trying to fix and what to grind to do it. Problem is blanks are backordered till April 2024!! He thinks he can regrind my problem cams but he won't know till he gets them. So I'm gonna send them out and see what happens.
