So I was up late on night and saw this in eBay for $125.00 I think I got an alright price. Now do I keep it stock or port it for my 288. Seems like a shame to cut up a new cylinder. Oh well at any rate enjoy the naked too end pic. Does anyone know the going rate for these cylinders in like condition?15059349916041151530139.jpg 1505935054235998385419.jpg 15059350872601115835886.jpg 15059351758212025749843.jpg 15059357015352091901724.jpg

I have a mahle and a ks non decomp both have around .030 squish, both stock, but the ks is way more peppy. Stock the ks has more "fun to run" value.

Ooh that is a pretty sweet deal there on the dealer cost. I got into the 288 with a ragged out missing parts screwed up low compression for 175 on CL to make about 12 cuts in a 3 year standing seasoned maple that my ms310 wasn't liking to cut.
Even in the poor condition that 288 did the job so I ended up keeping it and now with a almost pristine used KS cylinder new piston and ring and the right parts its a joy to run, now i want more. That is my first pro saw ever and I see why pro saws are popular even the old ones.

Just picked up a high top 288 300 year anniversary. Has ks jug. But I think it read 149 1a or 2 a. What’s the differences? Or do I need to clean and read it again?

I would ASSume the “A” is the piston designator. If that’s the case, Just make sure you use an A or AB piston.
