How are those in the summer with the waterproof membrane ? Feet get hot ?

I only wear waterproof boots year round. You learn to deal with hot feet versus wet feet. I personally would sooner deal with the sweat than the water logged boot. Even in the dead of winter my feet with sweat in waterproof boots when working hard.

They are brand new Brian. I haven't even worn them yet. But I think they may be un-insulated. So just the Goretex membrane. And the cambrelle type lining and the leather.

Whats with the high heel on some of those logging boots?
The first thing my boot touches is it's heel when I am stepping down the log pile. Also helps to have more bite when I'm traversing side hills and banks. Sometimes walking along them (if they are loose or soft) I will purposefully dig my heel into the ground for a solid step.

And I'm a short little guinea lol

Previous post being said, for the past two days it has rained here. My Solomon hikers were not up to the challenge of water and mud. Long story short my feet have been wet and I've been a grumpus whilst working...so my frustration peaked and I happened to get out of work on time today!

I purchased a pair of size 10.5 Chippewa Super Logger II's. I took a picture of them before I brushed them with liquid "Aqua Seal". If you haven't used the Aqua Seal product before I recommend it. 20170718_181011.jpg

I'm in central MA and I feel ya on the rain/mud we have had...
is the toe on that still leather, with just that black rubber? material over the leather, or is that rubber the actual toe?

I run insulated super loggers, been wearing them for 15 years for 14+ hours everyday (its the only "shoes" I wear other than insulated rubber boots in the snow) and the only real complaint ive had is the stitching wears through where my pant leg cuff rubs on it, usually takes around 1.5 years then theyre usually coming apart at 2 years then I trash em...

After about 8-9 months the liners wore through by the heel on ones i had ,good boot besides that ,i was taught in mass not to tie my boots to let the heat out in summer ,that may be why wore out quicker.

These boots have a composite toe, leather over the composite, and a rubber toe protector. These boots gave a different liner than the previous super loggers, it's more like a mesh. The old ones I had were equipped with some kind of felt?

Day two in my brand new SL2's...they are utterly and completely comfortable. The non slip works well on everything but piss wet bark coarse side down, but I don't expect anything to grip that. After a day of wearing them they weren't super stiff any longer and they seem to breathe well, my feet were warm but not sweaty which is important for me because I have eczema on my feet unfortunately...

More like my head was elsewhere. That's what happens when you don't have your head in the game.
Sounds like your should find a new profession or get serious about it. I'm not a safety Nazi but if tree work or logging is your bread and butter you best change your outlook. End of story.
