My old Echo cs520 wasn't running right so I decided on a new 50cc class saw. I really like the feel of the 550xp so it came home with me.

'I Saw a Lot' has one and she loves hers too. It's a step up from my 353 that I still consider my "go to" saw. I keep a pair of 350 models handy, one of which I rebuilt with a larger bore to almost equal the 353. That 550 is a keeper and a half. Congratulations!

I like mine, opened muffler a little to get heat off. Find mine to be easy starting, one pull restarts, no hot start issues and plenty of power for limb removal and wood to 16 inches. Easy on fuel, congrats and enjoy your new saw.

Mine is the 550xpg so a little heavier but loving it. Only have 3 tanks of mix through it so still getting broke in. Enjoy the saw.
I've never run a heated handle saw. My fingers get really cold. I bet that heat is nice.

It was somewhere around 20F when I ran it on it's madden voyage and first saw with heated handles. Seemed like I had to keep the RPM's up for them to heat up, but I give them a warm thumbs up as my hands never got cold.

Yea I noticed that too there is no voltage regulation. It’s like that with all my heated handle husky rigs

If you're limping or cutting small wood the heated handles would get that warm . When cutting bigger wood where you're cut times are longer the handles will get really hot. I ran my 550xpg this morning , it was 23 degrees out and I didn't even turn the heat on .
