Lookin’ good!View attachment 217085
Enough to take me into 2022. Mostly white and red oak with a little hickory mixed in.
Awesome score! That’s every hoarders dream.View attachment 217119 View attachment 217120 View attachment 217121
White Ash blowdown that’s been 90% off the ground.
MS280, 562XS, and 394.
Somewhere short of a cord
I spent the last couple days bucking, splitting and stacking myself. Mostly hackberry. I also have a fair amount of hedge to do as welll. I have a covered area I usually stack a few cords in then I move outside and stack as well. If I’m busy in the shop during heating season I’ll burn 3-4 cords a year. I get a lot from a friend who does roll off work and lot clearing plus a couple tree guys. I’m not picky about what comes in. The last four, yes four, roll off loads were mostly hackberry with some Osage, a few random Elm and another tree I’m not sure about.

1/2 a cord or a cord at a time... it all adds up!Smaller addition to my stash:
Those ones that stand back up are my favoriteYes, it stood back up when I cut it off. It was a blow down.View attachment 217256
That's a hell of a stack! That's not my pile of wood, and it's not me standing on it, but I put every piece through my splitter. About half yesterday and half today. Pretty slow start this morning at -5F. Took a long time for the hydraulic fluid to get over 30 degrees.
This is actually a view from a narrower angle. It goes to within a few feet of that shed behind the pile. The guy in the picture guessed/calculated 12 cords, which seems kinda high. I'd believe 8 though.

A lot of this last pile is beyond saving, but I'm certainly going to salvage what I can out of it. I'm a lucky man to have such a nice place by the river to do my firewooding to say the least. Finally took the time to cover the pile before the next round of downpours came through. My rough estimations of the pile put it right around 8 chords of the good stuff!View attachment 218008 View attachment 218007 View attachment 218006 View attachment 218005
Great haul and looks like nice sized stuff.

Certainly a healthy mix. From a tree service and most people are scared of the bigger stuff so it is usually all mine.
My lift makes the big ones easy to handle. Haven't had much luck getting a steady tree fairy after my last one got messed up with drugs. We do have one that drops off loads at my best friend's place when he is in the area. I'm pretty lucky right now as we have more wood than time to process. Most of our trees are yard trees and seems like they have very little straight wood.
