I do the same thing with the odd sized pieces. Lol
Another 2 loads yesterday (up to 4 loads total now). Stacked out to +/- 3 cords, and I'm maybe 1/2 done!
Mrs. Geek took some pictures of me today, beating my brains out on the twisty tree-row ash. I only trashed 2 84 DL and 1 68 DL chains on nails so far...

I see trucks makes Treesmith here in southern PA sometimes.I just got a call yesterday from Treesmiths, and they had to do some power line clearance at one of my rental houses. They took 7 or 8 ash trees down to the ground, and left me the logs (4" and bigger) for firewood. Sounds like I can run some loads this weekend!
(Sounds like work, but sounds like fun too!)
I'd grow roots waitin' to finish my bucking cut! LOL
I picked up a Fiskars ss axe a couple weeks ago and split the two truck loads I got from Dillsburg. Hickory,Locust, cherry,Ash,and maple. Starting on another pile of maple. Never thought I could get into splitting by hand but now I can't stop.
I've been helping my FIL with the firewood work for about 15 years. At the time we cut just enough to get by. 3 years ago he ended up with severe tendonitis and talked about getting a pellet stove. I told him as long as my wife and I lived with him he would never have to worry about firewood again. At that time I joined AS and got serious about firewood. Now I have next year's wood and and 20/21 wood on the racks and working on being 3 years ahead. I ended up with a bunch of new saws along the wayand the Fiskars fit in well with the low price high quality theme I have going. Now there's old Poulans and a pair of Stihls in the shed also but the Echos are my go to saws. Sorry for the long winded response.Nice job with the lean-to and the wood.
It is addictive. Lol
I bought some Gransfors Bruk splitting tools to see what they were all about. To go along with my Fiskars X27.
They are in a league above. Keeps me rejuvenated. Lol
I will post a pick of my pile when I can. [emoji106]
Were gonna put you on Team Echo. LOL
Good deal. I cut for my FIL as well. In fact, he gave me his Hooskie 345. I give him more than I cut for myself. LOL
My pile at the moment. Lol
