Standard chain for an Echo CS400 is an Oregon S62, reduced kickback. What would be a really good aggressive chain for this saw. I'm looking at a 91VXL062 Oregon. And since Blount/Oregon destroyed their user friendly website and replaced it with Viking runes, I'm restricted in finding info. Thanks in advance.

91VXL from Oregon is good semi chisel chain but has no safety features.

I'd say try some Stihl 63PS. It's full chisel, and my little Dolmar 421 is great with it. You can square file it too, if that's your flavor.

This chain will be used at a GTG if I can work up the nerve to try a race. I'll stay with the S62 for limbing. I try to err on the side of safety. I was a machinist for 40 years and still have 8 full fingers and 2 full thumbs.

Or if ya want to go even cheaper try some Raisman chain from HLS its pretty sharp out of the box.
Or check out this and see if you find something on salehttp://opeforum.com/threads/misc-parts.8029/

Lol. You'll keep all your fingers...

The Stihl chain is good but if you plan on filing, it's tough stuff. I'd go with a loop of Oregon for that. Just my opinion.

Kinda like Hillbilly Truth or Dare, if you were me buying a couple chains to run at your GTG, which one, Oregon or Stihl? Remember, the chain will be on an Echo 400.

If you want a fun, fast chain out of the box, stihl PS is what you want. PS3 is good too, just as fast (allegedly faster even) and has kickback reducing features. Oregon VXL is good chain, as is the Carlton N1, but neither is close to as fast as the PS.
