...and you get that bonus protection from secret Echo space stations falling on your head when they spin out of orbit due to inferior plastic components!

Exactly! Tinfoil is OSHA approved to protect against conspiracies and Echo's sharp plastic edges

Echo has a few interesting models,
350WES, 1.48kw 3.6kg
361WES, 1.49kw 3.8kg
353ES, 1.59kw 4.0kg
452ESX, 2.26kw 4.6kg
510, 2.60kw 5.1kg
525, 2.60kw 5.1kg
501SX, 2.57kw 4.7kg
Those specification doesnt say so much, Echo hasnt info when it comes to rpm and AV data, at least not from the link that was posted earlier in this thread.

Btw, I dont think it serve us well to make threads where we can bash another member on OpE.

You're right Tor. Sorta hoping it keep it light, not mean in any way. Niko has been what consider a friend for many years. I hope nobody thinks I'm being mean toward him. I am poking fun at him though. He's quick with a jab, so he better be able to take one.

Muffler is really restricted , saw feels awesome....much like my 346XP :)
Modding the muffler and opening the carb will be one of the 1st things I do after it has been run some . Has limiter caps on the carb and to my understanding the D type tool is needed but I'll confirm that .

Plastic on both those saws is solid and fit nice , I can't see where it's any different than other saws out there , they all have plastic on them now .

As I mentioned , as soon as I picked it up after installing the 16" bar it felt much like holding a 346xp .

The echo IMO really worth consideration is their new top handle 25cc class CS2510t. It's power and weight specs are as good or better than the top two. Where I come from its an $800 saw without much magnesium, but if the model makes it to the US it will be in the $3-400 range. I like my ms150 but I want one of these new offerings. The 590 timberwolf is a $1000 saw here, for that reason I have yet to see anyone buy one. The 600p come with a solid RSN Sugi bar from factory which is kinda kool. But its over a grand, so not many of them floating around either.

Why are the Echo's so expensive in Australia?

They look rather like Husqvarna saws, only with better plastic...

That obviously depends on hvo is looking/feeling the plastic.

The plastic on the Echo saws leaves an unnecessarily cheap impression in my hands - hard and brittle, with some sharp corners. In a way it reminds me of the interior plastics of Japanese and American cars made some years ago.
They really have to do something about it.

Lack of "taste" regarding the looks is another issue, but there have been signs of improvement there.

Of course no plastic used on saws are perfect, but at least on Swedish made Husky saws and German made Stihl saws it leaves a much better impression than on any Japanese saw (including Japanese made Husky saws).
