So had a 16 inch by bout 30ft spruce in my front yard, it gonna get into my power drop soon.
So took out my CS490 and did the tree in,, I was duly impressed with the saw.
It only has a MM and cut well, great saw to say the least. I think the saw has 2 or 3 tanks thru it now.
Can only get better. Im gonna also use it on my ATV

My CS-500P (same engine) is the same way, just keeps getting stronger. I assume your 490 had a catalyst? The stock muffler on my 500 didnt even have a baffle, just a spark screen and deflector.

Strange how Echo decides to put a catalyst in some and not in others. My even older CS-400 had a catalyst.

The newer 400 has it too, & 271t & 303t. Not in the USA 590, 490, 352, 355t, 2511t

Sure is weird.

You can run my ported 303t at the MMWS GTG if you want.

The number of units per model number determines which get a cat. They sell tons of 400 so it will be high enough sales numbers for a cat. Can’t find it now but it’s based on percentage of total sales of all models.

This past weekend I was at the Paul Bunyan Festival and talked to the Echo rep. Asked him when the 73 cc saw was coming out. He said he didn’t know anything about it. I showed him a pic. He wanted to know where I got the pic and if I could email the pic to him so he could ask about it!!!!!

I was at my local Echo dealer today and brought up the new 70cc saw and rear handle 2511 and he said he heard whispers but was hasn't seen anything solid yet.

He did mention Echo has some evnte planned called 20 for 20 where they'll have 20 new item come out in 2020.
