Got back on this saw a little bit last night. Got the clutch tool and could finally remove the clutch. Found the rear spring was broken. Replaced both springs as that is what the manual recommendsIMG_20210116_204348.jpg

Also found a NOS rim sprocket on ebay. Also replaced the drive sprocket bearing. I installed it with a 7tooth rim. May switch it to an 8t. Not sure how the saw will do. Replaced the chain tensioner as it was bowed like a banana. Also found a nos chain catcher.

Cleaned the pickup screen in the oil tank and replaced oil hose with Echo 90014. Also replaced o-rings on the white connector.IMG_20210116_210759.jpg

Dang, they don't make heavy duty clutches like that no more!
Reminds me of a 090 clutch.

You seem to make good progress on that saw. :)

I have to agree with you on the clutch. Seems to me the weak link is the springs. Not a big fan of the full circle design. But it works none the less.

Progress has been slower then i would like. Been busy trying to catch with jobs as we had a bad run of wet weather a few weeks ago. Thanks for following along with the thread.

The whole clutch looks brand new. I have seen a few of those oil hoses turn to mush.
All my Echo's when i get them all the hoses get checked.

Your doing a nice job.

The oil and fuel lines seemed to be in decent shape for the most part. The fuel lines were getting hard. But i probably could have reused them,if i had too.

This is also my first time in dealing with JIS head screws (Japanese industrial standard). Most jis head screws have a little dimple. Inside the red circle. I know most would say just use a philips. Glad i bought the correct jis screwdriver. They bite well and i am not worried to strip the screw head out. IMG_20210117_212604~2.jpg

Got some more work done on the saw. Found a new nos molded fuel line off ebay. Replaced o ring on connector. And used Tygon 4040 and a Stihl 0000 350 3500 fuel filter.
IMG_20210117_145142.jpg

Got the fuel line routed and the ignition module installed.

Got the flywheel installed. I also pulled the pawls and cleaned and lubed them with graphite. They were a little to sticky for my liking.

Well here it is. I think it turned out well.
Had is out running the other runs pretty good, i have not cut with it yet. Just working on setting the tune.

Does any one know what the max rpm is for the high side. I have it around 11,000.

Also had to tear it back down as my kill switch would not work. Cleaned up the switch contacts and ground. Test right on the ohms meter. Yet to try it running

Wow @jmester you did a great job on the Echo 750...nice work on that muffler...I have two Echo saws (602VL and 500VL) both run great still to this day. I'm still looking for a chain oil cap for my 500 and my 602 needs something done with the bar studs...they seem to have pulled the threads out and I cant tighten them any more...not sure what to do there...

Cant help much on the oil cap. I found alot of the parts i used on ebay.

I think time sert might be your best bet on the bar stud issue.

Do you have a ipl for your saws?

Had a nice experience today. The customer that gave me the saw. Had me back out today to give an estimate on some other trees. Showed him the saw and he was all smiles. He was happy to see it cleaned up and in working order again.

And cleaning the contacts on the on/off switch worked to fix it not turning off.
