Had a customer of mine give me this saw today. Overall seems to be in good condition. Most likely needs the fuel system gone threw. And some thing is up with the clutch as it spins when you pull the recoil. Also needs a muffler.

How well do they perform? Are they worth putting a little bit of money into.

That's a lot nicer than mine. They are cool old saws, but too heavy for me.

Thanks.

It looks like it maybe a long road to get it going again. Looks like the muffler is nla and one of the molded fuel lines is also nla

They are a nice torky saw. Not a hi rever. Well worth a couple bucks to put into it. Check fuel and oil
line as they tend to go to mush.

I was planning to go threw the saw overall anyway. I like to know what I have if that makes sense. Fuel system is a must for me.

I have heard these older echos have a somewhat problematic Ignition coil. Guess I should start there and make sure it has good spark.

@Lee H

Do any other echos of that vintage share the same muffler as the 750? The cs-702 muffler looks the same.

Also had to adjust the cdi module as it was rubbing the flywheel. The manual says it the cdi module should be flush to the stator plate. Used a combination square to get it flush.

That's why I sold mine while it was running good. It was a cool old saw, but it was too heavy for me to use and it would have just sat around in my way.

Also wanted to pressure and vacuum test the saw. Which it passed to my surprise.
Had to modify a couple of block of plates to make it work

The top Husqvarna plate is for a 3120 just had to elongate the holes a bit. The bottom one is from stihl. I had already modify this for another saw. Just had to clean up the slot to make it work.

Yes the parts are hard to find. Sometimes that is more fun than the actual work on the saw. I have met alot of people trying to hunt parts down. Plus it pushes me to think outside the IPL and make something work.

I probably should have just walk away from the saw. And saved my money as i really dont like or want old saws like this. But here i am. Most assuredly i will have more in it than i could get back out of it.

I think it's a pretty cool old saw , nice job on checking everything over. I've seen a couple guys running them on YouTube and one was for sale above me in NC not long ago.
Definitely a cool project.

Finally got some more parts in. Have been waiting on a muffler lid from ebay. So i could use it to lay out where braze a nut to repair the back half of the muffler.
