The 510 definitely feels more aggressive, probably the better limber of the 2. The 5000 just has a different exhaust tone. Cut times are similar, slightly favoring the 510.
I need to freshen the chains and try again
As for the 32, both of these saws feel really similar to the 490. I would say the 490 falls right in between. Just by feel 510,490,5000 but no longer have the 490 to compare.
Once we get @Woodpecker 501 ported we can see how they stack up.
Both of these are unlimited, major requirement for finding a 50cc echo that could best the 490 lol.As far as the 501 I'm game whenever you are Joe!
Both saws look and sound strong! Are either unlimited coil? Just wondering if the unlimited coil on the 501 ends up being the x factor between all the saws.

The 5000 has the larger carb, but tiny ports. Where the 510/501 have small carb but large ports. Interesting idea echo....

Not without some doing.. the 510/501 run a wt series carb while the 5000 uses the hda series.Hmmm... Does the 5000 carb fit the 510/501?

You 2 got 3.5 weeks to get these rigs polished up. Only Echo that ever made it to Custer's gtg was a top handle. Chop chopYeah that would be fiddley... bummer

I'll post the 530 pics/build here too.
Think it cleaned up good enough to use. Just a couple light scratches above the port. Only other option is a 200$ short block. This one appears to have been straight gassed. Clear fuel in the tank.
Also the intake boot was torn along with the oiler damage from chain derail.
