These couple little holes in the side and the hole base of it being open are the main air intakes on this saw.

I have some of this mesh. Echo. IMO. Put some prescreen at least over the main big air intake at the base. Like a Dolmar does.

Run it with the filter cover off se if there is any changes in debris and rpm and or power

Ok buddy here ya go. Defiantly more rpm on no load throttle. The saw is defiantly holding its rpm better now. As fair as gains. It's faster but I'm at the ending my good can't. That last cut without an air filter was in a knot.

Looks good to me. Can you try it with 3/8 chain?

Wow I do hear the difference with and without filter cover. Ur saw sounds very good anyway has much more rpm in the cut than it did stock

Wow I can see a modified cover in that saws future. Maybe something like those frogskinz

Some holes did wonders on my 360t filter cover. and the cs510 just don't have a cover and it runs good without it
