Riding on the storm
What is an Echo 4910? Why is it NLA? How viable is owning one? What is parts availability, now and in the future? As the 346xp fades away, is this a good replacement?
FWIW they’re the lightest ever 50cc saw, so they end up getting compared to saws that weigh significantly more. What is an Echo 4910? Why is it NLA? How viable is owning one? What is parts availability, now and in the future? As the 346xp fades away, is this a good replacement?
Type it in the YouTube search box. They really respond to modifications. Very light, reliable and nimble 50ccWhat is an Echo 4910? Why is it NLA? How viable is owning one? What is parts availability, now and in the future? As the 346xp fades away, is this a good replacement?
My shoulder is fked up from chipping overflow ice with a 30 lb ice spud. The flyweight 4910 is bout all I can handle. With that 20" narrow kerf aluminum core bar, dmn thing doesn't weigh nuthin.FWIW they’re the lightest ever 50cc saw, so they end up getting compared to saws that weigh significantly more.
The air filters are a weakness, but there is a mesh available or you can get a kit to change over to the older 400 style air filter.

How much work did it take to get it to bolt up?I cannot believe how much the 4910 plastic handle weighs: 14oz
A stihl 044 wrap weighs 16 oz.
Gonna be a sweet set up once my 25" narrow kerf. 325 bars get to Alaska. Its taking a little while because them exotic gems are coming all the way from Australia.
Gotta make a more aggressive matching set of spikes too.
23 rs pro frees up so much fkn power, that this is the first time ive felt like a longer bar will be work perfectly on a 50 cc saw.
Ill report back regarding cut times from this 4910 and a 620pw both with 24-25" bars.

About 30 mins of cussingHow much work did it take to get it to bolt up?
And I assume some associated bending/tweaking? Did you use the same fasteners?About 30 mins of cussing
Are you asking about @mainer_in_ak bending and tweaking while trying to fit it up (and the associated cussing) or bending and tweaking of the handle? And I assume some associated bending/tweaking?
Of the handle. I didn’t realize that tweaking has a slang definition. Are you asking about @mainer_in_ak bending and tweaking while trying to fit it up (and the associated cussing) or bending and tweaking of the handle?
As long as he isn't twerking...Of the handle. I didn’t realize that tweaking has a slang definition.
cant you just use the handle bar as a sight lineFew observations after cutting for a few years with 4910's:
Gotta be gentle if u get a pinch. Can't man handle them or treat them like a pry bar off the felling spike as the av mounts are thin.
Molded black sight lines on the black recoil and clutch cover are very hard to see in low light. Need to paint them chartreuse or orange.
Its low winter light here on the timber sale and coupla my last shots were too tight for any error. Very hard to see those darn sight lines.
Loving the 23 rs pro though! 18"-24" white spruce saw logs cut like butter. Limbing with such a light saw is easy on a fked up shoulder.View attachment 482247

It’s not at a 90* angle to the bar. It’s slanted toward the operator at about 10*.cant you just use the handle bar as a sight line
