Echo 4910/501p “shortcomings”

Do you mind sharing what you did to the carb?

Also, does anyone know the venturi size for WT1141? My initial search didn’t turn it up.

I just thinned the choke & throttle shafts a little bit. I didn’t touch the Venturi.

This is where I got mine, it says they are out currently. They respond to messages really quick though, so they might tell you when more will be coming in.

Nothing new since last summer? I guess they are putting 359 carbs on 346,s so swapping a carb to a 4910 is just keeping them even.

My only real gripe is that it makes a metallic pinging noise at idle

I know this is years old, but I think you're hearing the starter pawls hitting the pulley. Try turning up the idle if your 4910 or 501 does this.

Since we’re responding to old posts, I squeezed a walbro HD12 into my ported 4910 with a 490 full circle piston. It’s a good saw, but not as good as a ported 346. It’s possible I did too much in the transfers though.
