I'm running K095 bars on mine. I didn't have anything to elongate the adjuster hole in the (hardened) bar, so I ground a little off the adjusting pin in the clutch cover. So far it seems fine...

Joe da echo man!!! Maybe someday I’ll send him my 800p. I’m into it right and she’s pretty mint just working up the balls to put that kinda money into a 800p? Cinderblock with 60cc power stock. Taking lowest bidders for port work lol.

Do the ko95 bars run the same DL count as the echo bars?
I run 16" with an 8 pin and would be up for a nicer bar if nothing else changes.

They can turn up decent, still not sure I would sink the money into one! I did one and the guy raves about it but it’s still a lot heavier and cumbersome than a 7900.

I went with a 7910 for the same reasons after handling both.

Yeah no doubt. They seem to run well when ported. But are tanks in the weight department. But people also say they’re built like tanks? That’s something to take into consideration. But I hate front chain adjusters lol. Yes, 79’s are a great saw. I have a Miller Mod 64/7910 and it’s a beast. And fairly light and smooth. Lots of great saws out there. That’s my problem I like them all for different reasons, but I think it’s time to figure out a consolidation plan.

I wish they were one of those saws that woke up with some simple mods I’d tackle it myself. Unfortunately I’m not tooled up for the major stuff.

I wish I could find one cheap. I'd try the basics, mm/base gasket delete/bump timing a little / and put the bigger carb from the older 8000 on.

So back to the 4910. How do they respond to to just a base gasket delete and timing advance. I already did a basic muffler mod, pull the tube and cut the front of the deflector out.

Not sure about a timing advance, but the gasket delete would definitely help reduce the ridiculous squish clearance. The exhaust and upper transfers are already too low IMO, so a gasket delete will move those the wrong direction.

Can only get away with 2-3° of timing advance or they need to be leaned out too far to quit popping in the cut. So I don’t bother

What makes a 4910/501 lighter than a 490? Pull start?

There is a seller on Fleabay who now carries Taumura bars for the K216 mount. I have one on my CS-500P and it's awesome.

On the 4910 I just did, the exhaust was 115 after cutting 0.040" from the base (no squish band cut). I wanted to get it up to 105, but I stopped at 108 because I was worried about blowing through the roof. Here are the numbers I had after cutting the base with before & after porting:

After machine work:

Ex: 115
Primary Trans: 130
Secondary Trans: 135
In: 80

After porting:

Ex: 108
Primary Trans: 124
Secondary Trans: 127
In: 80

I didn't mess with ignition timing, but I did do a muffler mod and some minor carb work. This build generated 5.19 peak hp with a pretty flat torque curve from 10K on down. As @Red97 previously mentioned, it would be interesting to try a 490 piston to allow a wider exhaust.

Edit: I'll add that when I raised the secondaries, I flattened the roof to a more normal slope about 1/4" in from the plating.

Do you mind sharing what you did to the carb?

Also, does anyone know the venturi size for WT1141? My initial search didn’t turn it up.
