13000 seems very optimistic for this saw and could very well cause it to run hot. My 3000 is set to 11500 or so and seems quite happy. Another thing, if you leave the cat muffler on it. A catalyst actually needs some extra fuel to work properly and not overheat. This is why a modern EFI engine has O2 sensors before and after the cat, to ensure that the exhaust mixture coming out of the engine is rich enough for the cat to function but not too rich or lean to overheat or clog it. My CS-400, SRM-225, and Dolmar 5105 have cat mufflers and I have tuned them a bit richer than factory. They do not get noticeably hotter than non-cat mufflers and every time I have pulled the mufflers they are clean as can be.
