I milled with one that is set at 98 118 and 81. Compression was over 210. It was ran in summer and made cuts 2 tanks long. 346 coil on it tuned down to 13.3k for milling. You can turn them up more for playing but I've had 3 with blown big ends with unlimited coils come to me from production loggers.

Well Dammit I'm hoping others will join in here. I like group build threads and discussions. I always learn from them!

Couple weeks early for me to be much help. Still have echos on my brain.

385 waiting it's turn on the bench..

Looks like you are doing a great job, excellent detail.
Thank you for sharing.
Curious to see how this comes out.

I was thinking along the lines of 98, 118 and whatever the intake lands at. 32" max bar.

Probably round .035 off the base ad set squish .020-23.

The 385 will be at 100 on exhaust with less off the base. I think Jack's 390 was 99-100 and 18-19 degrees of blowdown. It pulled strong and we ran a 36" and 8 pin on it since I wasn't paying attention and forgot a 7 pin.

Good to know, haven't ever timed one, just going of the numbers posted.

That makes things a bit easier.

Thank you.

Well you could go almost all out on the port work and maybe thread a muffler so it can have interchangeable exhaust outlets to tame it down or let it scream

I agree with the being easy on the rings . I dont care for fingers for that very reason and like more real estate for the rings to ride on myself. I do know the 390 loves a wide intake and exhaust. I dont have a pic of my 390 right now but Randy did a step down exhaust on mine

Grinding pretty as usual Carl.

I'd be glad to Tig that muffler to repair that crack and add whatever deflector/outlet you'd like.

Tig braze may work great here as well. It's more malleable and soaks through cracks. Sometimes the capillary action of it makes it strong er than a weld.
