I like how your approaching this one with longevity in mind. A ported saw could last a long time if done right. I'd say your on the right track

Thank you! You have to keep in mind the saws use. IMHO! You can be more agressive with a wood cutters saw and they will see a long life of use out of it.

A milling saw well you know where I'm going with this.

And as a tree service saw it will be ran in the heat of the summer for a lot longer runs that what an average wood cutter subjects them too! So hince the little lower comp as we know comp builds heat faster!

Now for this build I really like to talk the saw over with my customers and try and figure out what's best for them. He will be using this as a tree service saw running anywhere from a 24-36" bar. O ya!!!! Let's see if we can being a smile to his face! So for this saw it's throttled back just a hair and I will try to show ya as we go threw the build what I mean.
Is it a bucking saw? Ok my opinion
A tolotsen sled carb. A pipe for added performance and to draw in more customers cause of the unique chime.
And a chrome footprint gas trigger

Here's my hold up. I ran out of fuel line as I'm replacing all of them but I didn't catch the muffler being cracked. Bent dosnt bother me but cracked is unacceptable for a saw that I sold. So I will grab some fuel line and new starter rope tomorrow but I had to order a new muffler. That's gonna drive @Duce nuts knowing I'm this close! Lol. 20160330_185032.jpg

Know for the timing! I won't get super agressive here either. I will advance it but I'm gonna keep it to around 5°. And while I don't have any 346xp coils to throw on this saw as that seems to be theme prefer coil I do have a AM unlimited. So I will put that on and throw the factory coil in the box for Mr Duce in case the AM one flops out early. 20160330_185054.jpg

Well I can. I can wrap it up tomorrow. I'll just cut the whole front of the old muffler off and call it good! :ciappa:

You don't value your customers ears anywhere in a 1 mile vesenity do you? :headbang:
I will shut up and let you do your fine work!! I see chainsaw envy coming to Roscommon, MI. No Rush at all, will enjoy watching. Thanks
