^That's what I mean. Makita as far as I know never sold any gas saws that they designed/developed that's why they bought the dolmar brand as dolmar had some nice gas powered models. The saw may say Makita on it but it's a Dolmar saw. Makita decided to go all in on electric but how about selling the gas designs and rights they got from dolmar. They didnt and that effectively killed off/ended new production dolmar saws. We missed out on a 70cc version of the 6100 by the way. Heard from a reliable source Makita had fully designed a 70cc 6100 but it never went into production and now it never will. Wish someone else could get the rights to produce it and the rest of the lineup.

I know that Makita branded Dolmar PS-5105 & PS-420 saws as Maruyamas - I think MCV50/40 or something like that.
And, my Dolmar PS-311TH is a rebranded Maruyama.

I do not know whether Makita owns Maruyama (either in whole or part) or not!

I gave a little update to my PS-8700 (my modified PS-7900):

Tsumura 70cm/28" bar with .404 chain.
Now I have 70 cm .404" and 80cm/32" 3/8" to choose from. And I probably don't intend to do any serious work with her

Here is the 80cm version:

After about 2 year since I started her last time I only had to pull 7 or 8 times with choke in to habe the carb pump fuel of the tank and get the first cough. The two more pulls without choke brought her to live again!

I need to close the gap between my 24" & 36" B&C setups!
Sometimes 24" misses just a bit, in which case 36" is way too much.

24" to 36" is quite a gap, I'd say.
36" (should be about 90cm in metric measures) is nothing I could think
to be any use for central European lumber. For cutting bundles it maybe useful
but other than that, it's that much nose-heavy, it's more or less unusable (IMHO).

My firewood pile, I am sometimes craving a 105cm or 120cm. :D

Not a 7900, but a 500i. They run about the same. I would’ve used a 36 this weekend on either if’n I’d brought one. I had a half inch of sawdust on my neck at the end of the day from over-bucking with a 28 to get through 40” logs

common I m living about 30-60 min away from you. But beech, oak, ash and poplar are often big enough that bucking with 36 bar is a lot easier with that.
