Notice that “need” was in quotation marks.
I don't know about You, but I end up buying every saw I "need" even though I don't need it at all.
That been said, to me "needing" a saw has the same end result as needing a saw.

I was trying to be eco friendly in my reply to You and saved the quotations for when they are needed! ;)

So, does Dan have the saw You "need"? :)

Just picked up a NOS smurf Makita 7301. It has the smaller inner felling dog but no outer dog. The paint in the tapped holes has never been disturbed so it came with no outer dog. Is a smaller matching outer dog available? I can’t seem to find one listed on the parts diagrams I’ve been able to find. Thanks

Where the heck did you pick that up at?

To get that matching small dog you will have to speak to one of our helpful EU members like @Wilhelm. I'm pretty sure he has access to them still.
I replied to Mark's other post.
I can get them in volume from Germany, no problem.
But since Mark only needs a single outer spike I believe I have a new spare one in my parts bucket.
I just got home from work, I'll check after lunch and PM Mark.
No obligation whatsoever, if Mark has another source no hard feelings from my side at all.
Shipping a single spike will be close to the cost of the spike itself though.

I'll PM Mark a little later with details, then he can decide what to do.

Dan and Andrew are also certainly able to get the spike and they are top notch to deal with. :)

7301 wore out it’s first bar logging. No idea how much wood I cut with it... but a lot. Take my word for it. 467DE217-228D-4B76-9747-B9D28B8123DC.jpeg814E7475-BE5F-4A4F-8ACD-06BE18E766AF.jpeg CD91985B-79BC-4BD1-ADD3-68A97047C530.jpeg Saw still looks great. Holding up and performing well. 10ADD6E1-D04D-47F3-ABDE-C0EF70ADB251.jpeg It’s my main winter saw with those nice heated handles. Which work well by the way. They don’t put out much heat when the saw is idling, but make several good cuts and they get nice and warm. This is because the generator puts out more electricity with more rpms.
