I've never bought anything from TSC, til 3 days ago. I ordered a new Dewalt Air Compressor (DXCM426), as my 35+ year old Craftsman compressor has been ready for the landfill for a few years.

Only the next day did I look at my tools, no help there, then on the old Craftsman is the specs I saw.... what I ordered is a significantly lesser machine. Maybe enough but decided to do some good research and settled on a Dewalt DXCM251. Found it at HomeDepot which had an early blackfriday sale, and because of my military service, I get another 10% off with shipping included. Done!

TSC could not cancel because the Compressor was on the Shipping Dock. Okay, whatever. I was told once it does ship, call again with the tracking number and they can stop it in transit and have it returned. So I did. But that doesn't seem to be happening. The compressor is moving thru the states. Then I was told I could return it to a store or refuse delivery. Hmmmmm... Really? Returning it to the store seems like the best, but it weighs just shy of $150lbs and is a several hour drive. I've never refused delivery, so that, (to me,) seems a bit sketchy.

Anybody know? Can dealing with TSC be done satisfactory like? So far, I am underwhelmed by the script reading folks at the Consumer Help Center line.

-------------------

Really looking forward to this new compressor. It is going to be an upright, and I also ordered a self-retracting hose reel. A better dedicated space for the compressor with the hose reel is going to be a big improvement over my current Craftsman use that is such a PITA that I often avoid using the compressor.

Perhaps just calling your card company and cancelling the transaction is best, because there's no excuse for TSC not cancelling it when you called them.

I agree. When I said, then it's easy pull it off the shipping dock, but nope. I'll try and refuse delivery first. Seems like a dumb thing for them not to cancel it early and then have to absorb the shipping, especially shipping both ways. Big company ought to handle this at their end first and avoid all the shipping expense. But what do I know.

never delt with them online before, but have delt with store managers a few times, 3 times I bought used chainsaws that were returned, went very good I was able to offer a $100 bill and they took it all three times, me and a cousin talked a store manager down $250 on a brand new county line splitter, he went down on price because it was not assembled.

I really like TSC because it seems the store managers have alot of leeway on how they do things.

I bet once it shows up you can simply return it at a local store with little hassle, or just ask them for a return postage label.

Just to make sure I am reading this right. You ordered an item and then had buyers remorse? I hate to say it but your best bet is a two hour drive to the store.

I’ve had mixed results with them. The service provided by their employees seems definitely subpar but I think their “target market” is different. Go to an Ace, Lowe’s, or HD and I think they go after the urban home owner who wants to do his own minor repair - like replacing an O ring in the plumbing. TSC, on the other hand, seems geared to rural property owners that have acerage and know how to do repairs. I remember years ago going in to a TSC on a Sunday and finding special hardware I needed for my tractor and bush hog. Couldn’t believe they carried it in stock and it saved my day.

You won't find any of that at the ones around my house now.all they cater to now is lawnmower and horse people.

My TSC is pretty light on most things. I was in looking for an electrical plug adaptor, and only an underwhelming selection of anything electrical was available. They do have mowers though. About as close as I see there being a tractor of anything else.

So far so good. Looks like maybe TSC did get FedEx to intercept the westward bound Compressor. It has reversed direction and wound up in Connecticut this morning, after moving westward from Nebraska to Kansas last week. Confirmation is the charge to my Visa is gone.

I figured this was something FedEx could do. Hell, it is not like they are fishing thru small envelopes. The Compressor is 150lbs and the size of a Refrigerator -- Must stand out like a giant Albatross.

I was going thru my air tools and found a 3 inch Husky air cut off tool. I have no recollection of buying this. None! Must have been a long long time ago. I can see that it has been used, for what I surely don't remember. I also found another air hose hanging off a nail in the garage. Looks brand new and no connections. Where did this come from? :confundio1:

Years ago we had (4) farm stores in the area called Fleetway. They were pretty good. They were bought out by Orscheln about 20 years ago. Then about 8 years ago they were bought out by TSC and Bomgaaars. The local store closed.
We also had a family owned farm store to the south. The family just was tired and sold it to a small chain store. It has went downhill since.
