I wonder what their price is for super fabulous premium?
One would think if the 91 is ethanol free and pure gasoline that the adultered 93 octane should be less expensive. I have been told ethanol helps keep gasoline prices low because it is cheaper to produce.

I know that ethanol raises the octane, E85 is 105 octane, though not as many btu's as gasoline. Most places here have e10, 87 89 &93. Premium is 93. The 89 is just 65℅ 87 and 35℅ 93.

The price difference between the 91 and 93 does not make any sense.
What is even more senseless is many times the Kum and Go less than 2 miles away is higher. They are all corporate owned so it makes zero sense.

The higher price station must be closer to the highway, very common, as travelers buy from the cheapest place they can see when they get off the highway.

Pretty much my goto oil for most all things. I'll be curious to see if this cutting fluid does anything more or is just the same repackaged.

Tap magic is excellent cutting fluid, my uncles a machinist and has used for as long as I can remember and so does the machine shop at the taconite mine I work at. Also my experience with the two drill doctors I used was not good. I hand sharpen on a good fine stoned bench grinder that’s freshly dressed right next to a container of water to dip bit frequently to keep from getting hot not to cool it. Also back grind in a split point to keep the bit from walking.

Here’s an interesting article about Ethanol vs Regular gasoline. If I read it right, Regular is very cheap to produce but the manufacturers are able to build more profit into their price structures. Ethanol costs more to produce but the sales price to the average gas station is lower.
Just one article though. It seems to be a debated topic.

Biggest thing with Ethanol- produced from corn - gov subsidies, take those out of the picture and fuel prices would be even higher

The alcohol plant here pays us a few more pennies per bushel but they do not get any subsidies nor do I.

So you’re saying the Ethanol plant gets a subsidized rate on corn? I always thought the farmers got the subsidy. Or both?

I sell to the alcohol plant not the ethanol plant.
They are not at all one in the same.
I am betting in the last 7 days you have consumed a by-product of a grain alcohol plant.

Dude what did I just say about no politics!?!
I didn't see your post, I thought I was the third or fourth poster overall.
I was being pretty equal in blaming all politicians.
But I will keep the facts without the party. But you didn't delete the post of "commie" NY. Which I would agree with, but is certainly political.

I will respect this moving forward.

purely an economic question, but when the US dollar rises in value to against other countries currencies, doesnt that mean the us dollar has more purchasing power now and deflation has actually occured?
A Brent Johnson properly predicted over six years now, that the USD would have greater value in comparison to other world currencies. He calls it the Dollar Milkshake Theory. Silly name, logically sound, and clearly proven to be true.

While we as a nation are spending excessively, the pressures we put on world economics allows us to keep the balancing act going. 36-something Trillion in debt in climbing can't be sustained.

Economic answer to an economic question.

Subsidized…mandated, BS…
Ethanol is a bad fuel additive. Makes the epa wackos happy…makes the corn lobby happy. The consumers get royally screwed.

IMG_5486.jpegHave a look at the terms and conditions for the rules that you agreed to abide by when you signed up here. The link is located at the bottom of every page here. If you feel like arguing with me or getting píssy about how you are being treated differently or if you make me micromanage you here I’ll just hit the eject button on your account. I’m not looking to have a discussion with you about this.

If I’m having to micromanage this thread because folks can’t play nice and respect the rules of the road I’ll flush it. This is an outdoor power equipment forum. There are plenty of other places on the internet to discuss politics and your views in that regard. Try facebook.

Crazy. I bought eggs the other day. More for 18 then I use to pay for 5 dozen.

I kinda saw this coming. With 36 trillion in debt there is going to be all kinds of whipsawing in prices and availability as things tighten up.

I think eggs are up because there’s a bad chicken virus. It’s killing whole farms.
