Yes the prices are most certainly different by area even in the same national chain

Mathematically speaking, yes.... but inflation and math dont always tend to agree on the finer points....LOL

A lot of truth to that. I know it's pretty common for the base price to be higher where there's lower/no sales tax.
After tax it only costs us about 1% more to buy at our local Home Depot than an hours drive across the line where there's no sales tax.

Same all over the world by the look of it. Out here inNew Zealand
it is the same, everytime you go to the grocery shop most items have
gone up a dollar or two petrol snecks up everytime you go there.
Chainsaw parts the same so it looks as though it is just the world
we are living in at the moment.

The old-school high-sulfur cutting oil does have a rather strong smell, but it yields a better result than anything else
