What are your thoughts on this cylinder? It's a 394 and I'm told it past the "finger nail test"

Thank you

Pics are a little blurry when I zoom in but from what I can tell it looks like normal wear with maybe a bit of carbon streaking.

No one currently.

Better pics would help. Intake block is cracked

For sure the intake block is cracked.

I also see what could be a chip under the exhaust port. Not the end of the cylinder since it would be out of the compression zone but could be an indication of further damage.

Yup, this is what I get for relying on others to source stuff for me lol. Live and learn.. At least he found me a nice nos low top cover assembly to go with it.

I'm still learning I have two other cylinders that almost look new inside, but when I saw this picture I wasn't sure what to think. Guess I'll wait until it comes in and see what kind of paper weight I bought. I wasn't to worried at first, figured US chrome could replate this cylinder for me, but now I see you need to be a frickin dealer to send cylinders to them! I live an hour from these guys and I can't find a dealer for them. You can't make this crap up.

Thank you

A few months ago that was the case. But they aren’t replating blind cylinders now either

Interesting. I was told this morning from US to find a dealer, and they gave me a price list of what I might be charged. I wonder if the guy even knew what a Husqvarna 394 is...

Talked to Dave at my GTG and he said they won’t do it any more. He’s been trying to get someone else set up to do it

Dave did mention he was working on cylinders now .Weather they are iron lined or plated don't know . I once sleeved a Mac 125 which is fairly simple just labor intensive .I've never delved into something like a Stihl which not be so simple .
