I will never forget when my future FIL, future bride, family friend JR, and myself cooked the hog for my wedding.

We did it the weekend before.

This is a redneck grill/smoker that I saw on a online auction the other day. That is the type we used to use on hogs.

I have a few experiences and great memories of roasting hogs in one of the old oil tank cookers/grills/smokers??????.

The funniest was my senior year in high school. We needed a couple hogs for our FFA Banquet. I planned it out and I worked my plan. We would sell loads of hogs every few weeks. The Heinold hog buying station was across the road from the local family owned locker. A few weeks ahead our FFA banquet I called the locker and told them I would be bringing the two hogs in for the upcoming FFA Banquet. They always donated the processing so that was easy. The problem was keeping it from my father. Dad and I would load at 6AM and I would drop them on the way to school by myself. Of course two of the hogs "mysteriously" were lost when the hog buyer Colby wrote the settlement statement. He knew what I was up to and just laughed. I took the two hogs across the road and dropped them at the locker. Ole Mr. R at the locker knew what I was up and just laughed. Dad looked at the settlement statement and was puzzled on the count but I just said "aww heck we mist have been off"

The night of the FFA Banquet Dad figured it out and just laughed............"Damn kid"

@LAWN BOY those are the type of good ole experiences you do not get in online school.
