Cut off Saws

Like I say, I could definitely see where it would get old! What about the carts that they make for them? Seems like they would be nice for a 100ft cut.

They are expensive and don't take to tossing in a truck like a quickie saw.

Concrete saws are just a nasty freakin job,no two ways about it .However it beats the alternative,a hammer and a chisel .

I'm pretty happy with it! Going to have to make to large cuts in a couple weeks through asphalt, so I guess that will be the real test. Doesn't seem too bad with water though. Sure does go against your gut feeling to be cutting through a brick though!

Just an FYI - cut off saws are super cheap to rebuild. 420's are the look to be the cheapest- $30 ish for a cheapo p/c and up. Just did a rebuild on a Makita 7321. A Nikasil p/c was just under $100. I would say they are real nice quality. The first run was this weekend- ran the you know what out of it putting a new door in ( double wall of old school ceramic brick) and had to rip 2 4ft sections of 1/4 angle iron. Pulled the muffler and it looks like new.

My brother has a TS400. It will start, but will not run unless you keep giving it some choke. He has changed the fuel line & filter, carb, & coil.

Anyone with experience with these saws have any suggestions as to what is likely wrong? I figure it has to be either a fuel blockage, or an air leak.

I'd imagine something up in the carb. I'd kit it and lightly blow it out.

I have one mike. Used hard, put away wet. My muffler rusted off. Hadn't run right in 10 years. New carb, muffl, and air filter and good to go. Pretty dependable

check pto side bearing. the old ts400's seem to eat that bearing on a pretty regular basis

Where is best place to find jug for chap for makita 73cc saws I have 7 or 8 of the partner / whacker /makita saws with junk p/c also need a carb or 2 that js guys.

I ordered mine from ebay- nikasil $100 free shipping. Take your pick there are a few just under 100. Partner is different. Maybe you meant Dolmar. I have about 10 solid hours on mine and no issues.

Before I brake something, can someone confirm for me that the nut on the clutch side of a TS400 is reverse thread???

I know on chainsaws, the clutch side is, but not sure on this thing.

Turned out to be the decomp valve. Was leaking so bad I could not find the leak with the pressure/vac tester, so I hooked my bicycle pump to it, and then I found it. Pulled the decomp twice & played with it, and the leak went away, but I will get a new one anyway.

Was good to see that thing start & idle!

They're good saws. Bought mine new in about 96 or 97. The decomp was bent on mine and leaked, that's why I mentioned it. They get thrown in the back of the truck bouncing off concrete blocks and wheelbarrows and the decomp is in a somewhat vulnerable location
