If you do the heads up racing it would be cool to have some guys that are good at it, it puts fast saws and good operators into perspective.

i agree here and why at the gtg joe and me asked hedgerow and levi to run the saws together and also switch saws and run again so the wood is out of the equation

Yup. Good point there. I was just curious to see a heads up comparison with the filing types.
I admit, I am no cant racer. Just a saw user. Lol
Slow, consistent, but will finish.

The cants we used at TN were cut in half and flipped over. So the wood was as close as possible

I haven't gotten to use the bar too much. I don't have any more wood to cut. Lol
I did have it milled out for D025/3003 mount so I can run it on the saw I bought from Jason. I've also been busy converting more or less every chain I have from round to square. Did a bunch on the grinder at Dan's place, but quite a few by hand too.
Got myself a nice little 028 Super I'll try my hand at porting on.

When I convert round to square, I don't go crazy to make it all like square at once. As long as you get that corner sharp, it will cut just fine, and each time you sharpen it, it will look more like square. It will take a few times for the side plate to look like square, it will almost look like you used a goofy file, but it will cut just fine.

There are several annual GTGs posted, but this is the only semi annual one that I know of, and most of us have been to all 3 of em! Credit to you Dan, and the dyno boys, and Mel & Cindy, and the saw builders that send us neat stuff to play with even if they can't attend themselves (and even better are the ones that do attend), and Matt's repair services ...

It is almost like the Gilligan's Island them song except we got the Dr and the Dentist, and the big yellow saws, but no millionaire!!!

We need a wordsmith like DDave to chime in and make this sound better!

Dan, do you still have Angelo's Silvey grinder? It would be cool if you could get it set up for anyone wanting to convert loops.

Will Mel and Cindy be there or are they going to be in TN by then? Will we need a new kitchen?

I hope Lee comes back with some toys to play with. It was nice that he brought his wife- the women numbers are growing.

At the moment I do still have the silvey, but I need to get it to him soon. However I should have my own by then! [emoji41]
