I do most of my bucking with 24" bars, even if the trunk is sometimes a little larger. The longer the bar the more awkward saw, and the more likely you are to hit something you don't want to hit, like another tree or a rock. It is easy to go over the top and cut the backside a bit before you level the saw and cut down.

Welp, at least breakfast will be cheap. On the plus side, we're going to be running through a boatload of fuel then.
