I am finally getting around to working on my Husqvarna 2100. My crankcase had some broken spots on it, so I bought a crankcase on eBay for it. I removed the bearings for replacement and the clutch side didn't really want to budge. I added more heat and finally got it out and found that it has been pricked at some point. I am assuming that it had spun a bearing at some point. My question is, do I use Loctite 660 on this bearing, or something else? Any input is appreciated.IMG_20170215_203534285_HDR.jpg

If the bearing was a good, solid fit- I'd throw a little 660 in there and run it.

It was certainly holding on. My only concern is how did they determine that the side that they pricked was the side that was worn? I guess the wear marks would have made it fairly obvious when it was broken down. I guess I am just being paranoid since some of the parts for this saw are so scarce.

It isn't necessarily that the bearing spun, and this was a fix. Sometimes when installing a bearing it just feels loose. Pricking around the bearing seat will tighten that up. So it's more of a preventative measure. So long as the new bearing is a good press-fit when you insert it, that should be no problem to lose sleep over. In either case, you should be fine with or without a little loctite.
