Couple Serial Number Q's

I did not realize the 24" bar was .063 when I first got it, ran it with .050 chain for a bit, don't make that mistake, very sloppy!

That’s an early 10mm 044. It probably has the angled hose barb for the impulse line.
I suspect the saw is old enough that stihl no longer has it in their system or it was never registered when it was sold new from the dealer.

I've noticed, on the early 044's that I own with angled hose barb, they have a different impulse hose, then the later 044's with the straight barb.

I have a parts list from July 1989, shows a different part number, then the later 044 part lists....

I’ve noticed this as well. I know the newer impulse line with the angled end works fine if you slightly rotate it.
