I have to go in for a colonoscopy tomorrow and I am not experiencing what others had told me I would. All I have heard is how while drinking the prep I will be pooping my guts out. I am not, not at all. 🤔 I have to say I am a bit puzzled.

How has it went for others?

I dunno, but I hear @Mastermind offer’s complimentary colonoscopies if you go visit.

They said not to eat anything ahead of time but never really gave me a time frame. I ate eggs this morning (Wednesday) around 6AM and that is it. I will not get back from the hospital til Thursday evening around 6PM. I know 36 hours without eating anything is a bit of a stretch........well for me at least.

No dinner the night before the procedure is the normal deal. Or, no food, 12hrs before
You will start the “sparkling laxative “ the night before

It may take awhile to kick in, but the prep should have you visiting the bathroom frequently during the process.
Not diarrhea style, but ya just gotta go and get cleaned out.
That's the worst part and not really all that bad, just inconvenient.
After the procedure, you will be hungry. Go treat yourself to a good meal.
Well done! Take care of yourself.

The worst part for me was drinking the solution…. That can be tough. I use Crystal light (lemon) flavoring…. Nothing red. After the cleanse the procedure is simple.

I had a GIST Tumor 5 years ago and went through an upper and lower twice. Then in August 2024 the CT scan showed something suspicious and went through another one and operated on again. All was Negative bet a necessity to make sure. Surgery went well this time…. I wasn’t half dead life the first time as I had a bleed and lost half my blood volume. This one was cake. Don’t get yourself worked up… if you can get the solution down your Golden…. The rest is easy.

The taste of the prep was the worst part for me, think ethylene glycol antifreeze with a dash of pool chlorine.
I just had to mix a whole container of miralax in 64oz of Gatorade and drink it within 2 hours.
