I am a very huge cheapskate on many things except saws, tools, equipment, etc. I do not watch much TV except a bit on Sunday mornings and all I have is an antennae. Those who know me know I am a huge political junkie and I am missing out watching one of the largest political fiascos in the history of this great country. I want to be clear THIS IS NOT a political post. I am just itching to be able to watch a bit of TV coverage. There is no way in hell I am signing any long term satellite contracts. I investigated some streaming services but they are just as expensive as a dish. Is there any reasonably priced alternatives to be able to watch some news programs?

If you have a smartphone, a subscription to Newsmax would be my choice.

If your tv is capable (USB port) you could stream it to you tv by using a device such as a Belkin Miracast video adapter (There cheap).

It would also depend on how much data our phone plan has, video racks up the GBs pretty fast.

Newsmax is 5 bucks a month or 50 a year for full access.

The belkin dongle was like $25 bucks when I purchased it.

Keep the antenna Bill, you can always catch a rerun of an event online. The only thing with an antenna, is you won't get the references your friends use. My coworkers talk about stuff and people and I have no idea what they are talking about. Different priorities I guess. I won't pay for tv, or radio either.

I am torn as I do not want to pay but in 75 minutes Meet the Press will be on NBC, This week with David Brinkley will be on ABC, and Face The Nation will be on CBS. They are all free channels but years ago when we had a dish I could Ti Vo them.

I watch very little but the next 150 days or so are going to be a circus like no other. Also I like to watch a bit of NASCAR and even though Fox and NBC have the contracts they put it on their pay sites

The fire sticks are
pretty good…better than just what Samsun…or whatever smart tv has…but still won’t get you what you want, without paying
