I think they need to start testing at 40 instead of 50. I have a distant relative that just passed away 2 weeks ago from colon cancer. He was 43.
They AMA lowered it to 45 , to start getting tested last year, but if it’s a family genetic thing then earlier is better,

I am 39 and just had my first round of chemo last week for colorectal cancer. My oncologist said that soon it will be recommended to start colonoscopies at age 35.

Oh man, so sorry to hear that. I'm praying for complete healing.

I'm sorry to hear about that - I think it's wise to have people start screening for colon cancer in their early 30's. We're being exposed to things our ancestors weren't and rates of hypertension in the population are higher than ever.

My stepfather has had colon cancer three times now and finally is on a colostomy. He's being treated for it again but all he can have is chemotherapy because he's already received a lifetime radiation dose. I know I should get a colonoscopy but I sure don't want it but I'm at the age where I've already needed it.

They say I will only be out 20 minutes. I have had some bad experiences with anesthesia (not enough) in the past so this will be interesting.

They say if they give too much you may not wake up.
Well at least I would not know .

I get to have another one on the 14th. Last time guy before me was mad as hell, he did not follow directions and Doc could not do it. Good friend of mine chit the bed and wife made him wrap in a towel and wear a garbage bag (I laughed my azz off). Funniest couple I know.

It was delayed while the surgeon had to address a major trauma in the ER. Small town hospital......not many people to go around.
