Was it @mortalitool that helped design the suspension kit? If so could you make us a foam filter kit that for the 500?
He has something made for them. I shot him a message on it to let you guys know.

Pretty sure it fits under the stock covers like the 462.

The 5 point Pro-Safety dawgs are just too aggressive for my liking for sure. The 4 point aren’t too bad, though. Definitely have to be careful with your rider depth on bigger dawgs for sure.

3 points on the way, thanks again for the feedback. Been playing in some real swell butted red fir on steep ground.

I also read you wanted a stock weight well you are in luck. Here is a photo when I first got the saw, it has full tanks.

And here is a west coast 372xp. With full tanks.

Nice, TY for sharing. So west coast bits add about 1 pound (give or take) to any generic saw? Depending on how many of the optional pieces you choose I guess.

The suspension kit was made between wcs and redbeard (mortalitool). Same with the air filters.

Last I looked at the filter kit for the 500i it looked like it wasnt going to be fun to clean. But I knew they were going to be changing it.

Just to add an update on my 500.
I was pretty concerned about the durability of these things initially, but we've been on some pretty steep, rocky, cliffed out ground and the saw has taken some pretty good rides as I was falling and getting the F-er as far away as possible from myself. Pretty minimal injury to the saw, which surprised me. Tough saws.

Okay guys, I got home about an hour ago and it's time to measure the bloat. Sadly the only thing I can't weight are the springs. Because I somehow didn't complete the order. I didn't notice till Sunday. It's scheduled to be delivered some time this week. But I don't expect much of a difference in the springs anyways.

Chinese oem style west coast. - okay you all are gonna have to give me a break. I wasn't going to remove the side cover dogs so you are going to have to guess.

Barkbox later style.

Total of the added bloat. So still lighter than my 372xp OE but not by much. Could loose another half pound by removing that bottom plate. But I'm not gonna.

Maybe invest in a skid plate like @Absolution is running on his saw? Protect the case that chips.

I think it may have taken a hit there anyway. Mainly this protects the fuel tank and directly under the crank. I brought it since the saw sometimes rides in the bed of my 2ton which isn't the nicest of rides and this is the most expensive chainsaw I've bought.

I also had to modify mine (this is supposed to be fixed now) . It was hitting the flywheel housing. As you can see on it.

It was the first day I had put it on and I was doing a tree that was rotten in the core. Kept feeling something like metal in the tree or something on saw was broken but chain looked fine. When I finished my notch was when I saw it.

It was unnerving as all hell.

Cool, good information. Maybe have them extend the skid plate further out to cover the pto case ridge? Could be a good idea for 500i’s used in rocky areas.

I got a few of the Built by Sean Filter for the HD2 style pre filters and they work great so far, also have tried the outerwears ones and they make for quick cleaning.

The Build by Sean pre filters make the 1/4 turn 500 cover much more snug also.

Here we go do I have some photos for you all to complete my arc before I leave on a non chainsaw journey. As I assumed the weight difference is pretty much nothing my refrigerant scale runs around .010 of change.

Oem spring/buffers weight.

One more post. I can say the spring kit
A. It isn't a minor improvement, it's way better.
B. Doesn't turn the saw into a hard body. Which was something I was on edge about worrying.

I didn't have anything to fell with this short time but I did have some pine to buck. The saw no longer has a fine line between stall and run. I got to try it with the 20" 28" and 36" and I now wish I did it sooner. Maybe the 3 points on the 500 wouldn't have been a turn off. (Still not taking them off the 660)
