CLEARCUT meets the 500i

I did stuff a rubber cap over the plastic bushing that attaches to the handle bolt. Need to get a 661 limiter.

I was going to put these on, but I think I’ll stick with my 4 points for now until I get into some bigger trees again. Starting a new unit tomorrow that is supposedly very small timber.

I believe @hseII had a remedy similar to that for the 661 that he told me about a couple years ago almost now.

They have a website. I got the ones for the original HD2 filters, such as on a 660, 461, etc.
They are a little snug, but they seem to seal fairly well. Lots of colors available too, lol.

I took the smallest white AV plug bushing and added it inside the cup for the limiter on the handle bar to case and it kept it from moving as far and put a plastic there so it wasn’t metal on metal

Nope doesn't have it, supposedly since it's been in development for so long compared to the 462. I'm really just hoping for maxflow to step in and make a filter and cover.

You can put a MaxFlow element in there with the stock cover

I had read that somewhere too. Does anyone have any feedback on how well it works? I am wondering from both a filtration standpoint (I assume it would do well), and from a better breathing standpoint.

That’s supposedly where Stihl started FI in a chainsaw... In a 441 chassis, which had pre-filter separation. I doubt they couldn’t have put air injection in this saw, I’m inclined to think it was more about weight savings.

I also am hoping for a Max Flow.

Just showing what she’s looking like while working in the burn during the wet season. I really like this saw, especially now that it’s not so sloppy in the AV department.

Not too steep, and small, small timber. Daily tree count gets pretty high in this stuff.

It’s a damn shame a saw of this price and in this day has that crappy of a filter system.
