Are you (the forum members) looking for a solution to 90 pages of bias, supposition and rehashed prior bad acts?

I see lots of mudslinging, pissing and moaning, righteous indignation and justified butt-hurt, none of that solves a problem.

I have an idea, might suck, they often do.

Start a new thread or even sub forum: "I had my chainsaw ported by"
customers post about their experience with the porter and saw in question, only others with a saw ported by the same individual can contribute to the thread, not mods, not builders, not fanboys, cheerleaders and trolls
would require a heavy hand to delete the detritus regularly and vacations for those found in violation, perhaps several baby-mods who could approve posts in the section selectively to keep horseshittery from hitting the airwaves

leave the good the bad and the ugly there for all future customers to see
a motherf4cker like myself might go on in bloviated fashion for pages with pictures and videos and pie charts and another buyer might just say "I give the saw a 9 out of 10, but the builder smells funny"

no response from the builders allowed, if a problem is fixed satisfactorily let the buyer say so

the section should also have a sticky entitled - "so you want a ported chainsaw" that lays out what a buyer should reasonably expect and what they should do on their end and what to tell the builder before the transaction

providing reasonable guidance to prospective buyers can add a reputation of fairness and helpfulness and make a better customer at the same time

A hearty GFY to all, and to all a good night
Dave

I think you guys are jealous because I'm more aerodynamic.
I think you're confusing the lack of wind resistance with aerodynamic. Most aerodynamic devices have shape and generate lift and drag in different proportions. Toothpicks just let the air go by.

Not to mention the seal that was driven in too deep and fried on the inner race.

The oil pump issue is as far as I would have went........and no one would have heard a word about it. But after seeing all this, I decided to dig deeper.

Wanna see some more pictures of this 1500.00 chainsaw?

I got em.

I've fixed saws by about every builder out there. This saw started out as a simple repair between the owner and myself. It was not until I saw how bad everything was that I decided to start this thread. I pulled the clutch drum to find this cheesy looking clutch that was slipping.

Then I found a completely worn out oil pump drive.

Then an oil pump that was complete garbage.

I've not denied there were *s-wordty Parts used, You Flapper.

Ray Charles could see that.

You are like a brother to me. I value your opinions, and I respect the hell out of you. But we gotta go on thru this. No way around it.......it must be done.

Ray Charles could see that.

Then Ray should also be able to see that the person who did this saw is not capable of repairing it in any way that would make it right from stem to stern.

This.......this is what I'm talking about.

You've gotten too involved with this: I fail to see what else can be accomplished with this thread.

I am unsubscribing, as it is evident that you & others have your minds already made up with whatever you are planning.

Julian was Vindictive with his 661 Thread, for various reasons not nearly as vested as yours.

This thread is fast becoming round 2 of that 661 thread.

If I lose friends over this.......so be it.

I will not stand around and allow the members of this site to be taken advantage of.

Have a great day.

I try to have perspective my fuzzy buddy. I've never seen a problem yelled at hard enough to provide a solution.
I try to be dispassionate until i am at the cant or in the thick of a juicy chainsaw pick, then biches best stand down :D
