I've used Dave's 272 carb replacements on a run hard put up wet firewood friends saw. No problems.

As you should IMO. I go through and check all fasteners before installing. Dont want a loose choke butterfly screw coming out etc.

I have 3 of the 69 clones,at wfo they might make a little more power than a oem one but they hunt at a idle. They idle ok but it drives me crazy to here it going up and down.

I'm no carb pro so I'm sure someone can get that out of them.

Do the clones fit correctly at the air filter snorkel and impulse lines? They don't look like they line up the same with the Walbro.

IMG_4567.JPG Its a camera angle thing I was really close trying to use the flash to illuminate both carbs and so the image is a little distorted but they line up perfectly.
The impulse and fuel nipples are the same size, just different needle configurations and when I looked inside the main jet is removable on the Wally but cast into the body on the Zama.
I was hoping to be able to swap out the oversize jet in the AM carbs like we do with the 69, but no such luck:(
If you know carbs and have a way to measure the orifices on these things shoot me a PM please.

If you have a set of the micro drills you could size the jet very easily, then drill the other jet to the same size. (or the size you want)

They don't cost much and are a great addition to the tool chest.

micro drills - are they metric and standard or drill sizes?
I have a good tool store nearby if I know what I am asking for.
Is there a range of sizes that is likely to be useful for this?
thanks in advance for the sage advice
Dave

I have a set in both metric and SAE sizes. The two different sets allows me to tweak the jetting just a bit finer.

Lots of guys on the forum have a set that they have gotten from Ebay. You will definitely need the 'pin vise' to hold the drills - and always check your sizes with a micrometer/calipers before using, they are so small that they can easily get mixed up.
