The nice thing about these little saws is that they can be worked on and parts are still available, especially for the 026. I suppose that's why upgrading the 024 to the 026 is a popular venture. You also pick up some power for practically no weight gain. Usually, however, a carb and some plastic is involved also in the upgrade. If all you need is a top end and no additional power, you can still get 024 top ends.

I finally got back working on this saw and got it running today and it was making awful noise at about mid throttle..... then I realized I left the clutch drum off… 
luckily I didn't do any piss revving!!

I had a few things left to do like fit the top cover and why I had to the grinder out I just cut a bolt off to use as a stud.

I all hate putting the screws in the rear handles of my saws in tell things are good to go.... it's just a pet peeve of mine not like it's difficult to put that screw in.

If and when I find the the time, I'm gonna do a 44.7 top end on a regular ole 024 non-super.
The NWP jug has a super thick base that will handle the drop better than an oem. The short stroke should change the timing favorably and allow some serious rpm.
