I've got the hd2 filter on it for now one of these days I will try the max Flo on one of the saws just can't make up my mind which one. Lol

Well that’s because just about half the debris passes through the filter lol. Sorry mike... but in my experiences it’s only good for a winter only filter or a GTG race filter. Not for a everyday work saw, especially in dusty hardwoods like dead ash or dead oak. The intake side of the piston will wear quicker running the winter type filters in dusty conditions. YMMV

But.....try the HyWay jug, and use a Meteor piston.

I have used a Hyway jugs and pistons with cabers on two Farmetec MS361 kit saws for a close friend and my brother-in-law (non-commercial users). I was impressed with the finish on the cylinders and they both ran really well. Both love their saws and no problems (touch wood) several months down the track.

In the winter there is usually less dust created cutting frozen wood, there’s a reason why stihl themselves recommend it as a “winter” filter. It also does not ice up as easy as a normal filter. I still would run a max flo over it in the winter though lol.

Frozen wood is harder to cut, I think it makes more fines....

I would not recommend them for milling, but for most cutting they do just fine if properly installed.

I do notice you have to install them very carefully, the gaskets are less forgiving than the ones on other filters.

I often put the chain guard on and flip the saw vertical to install them properly.

Well I know I'm changing out the rings for cabers but I just had to check the compression anyways lol just because. pretty dang good can't wait to see what it has with the caber rings.

Bigger ain’t always better. I like 180-190 in them.

You have a plated chamber. Less heat transfer than an bare OEM one.

Is there oil in that cylinder?

Not here to rain on your parade, but too much compression will just cause the saw to run hot and lose tune in long cuts. YMMV.

It was cold so what ever was in there.

Got cabers on there way they should be here today or tomorrow and I ordered carb studs from @Definitive Dave will be here next week maybe this weekend but you never know how fast the wind blows the mail truck these days.lol. so it sits until then. Then time to put it to work.

Dumb questions are these or are these not type f cabers? they just say caber on the rings.

Caber F-cast will say “Caber-F” on them.

They are OEM for some Husky saws I am told.

Take longer to break in, but then they seal better and last longer.

I would like to run the type f but I think it's safer with the chrome cylinder that I'd better run the non type f which is still way better than what came with the cylinder. Lol. But thanks for the heads up on it I'm in the middle of putting it back together. She's a good runner so why not.

She's all put back together again cabers are in and carb studs if the weather is better than it was today I'll try to get some run time on it and next day do another compression test on it. I think I like this saw more than my ms440 witch is nothing to sneeze at but in the end of the day you can't beat having the extra torque to run the 32". and yes it was cold in the shop with no heat so I Finnished it in the house where it was nice and warm. Lol
