Yeah... this didn't go exactly as planned. We shall see what he does with it though. This was a hail Mary on the top covers. If I dont get em sold then I cant do other projects....plus I'm up against getting steamrolled by the Chinese making their own tops soon. So there's more at stake here than a 288. Oh well. Hope he likes it and breaks it in.

I admire what you are doing. You’re not one to sit back and watch but rather stick your neck out, try something and not be afraid of failure.

Kudos to you Matt!

Your a good dude, I've watched your videos and live chats. Your not selling religion of "self" to anybody.
Don't have any skinny stretch pants in your closet? Do you?...

Are there no 288 high top covers available, or do you modify the ones that are in some way, I never seen a 288.

I have never used or heard a 394, but that one made the kind of sound I like.
Me thinks something got massaged.

He says in the video that the 394 had the exhaust and intake worked over. I did several saws like that before I got a lathe. The results were surprisingly good. Smooth ports and a slightly wider squish band can really sing. It’s possible the added compression may be fighting Matts saw or it may just be ported for rpm over long bar torque. And the additional displacement is nothing to disregard. They’re both sweet saws.

Some people have beef with high tops. I’ve never felt a big enough difference to care. But then I don’t sharpen my saws half bent over my tailgate.

288 high tops are no longer made by oem.

They are made aftermarket by me :) with a drop a tree on it warranty.

I love 394s....my favorite for sure. But when broken in the 288 is gonna be even more amazing. Pound for pound a huge winner.

I haven’t watch buckin for a while, cos his love n peace messages is like suckin balls to me. I'm just not interested and used to skip with annoyance.

but I will watch it for us forum guys ;)

I don’t watch BBR much either. @Mattyo maybe there’s a better place to advertise? Here and AS? Other you-tubers actually working on saws? Cut a deal with suppliers like HLS and the Duke?

I thought your saw you sent was good, however the saw that bearclaw massaged the ports was good, but we will never know how much it was played with, it did sound abit like a bike with that crackle sound..

well done for getting your saw out there..

Love his "vulnerbility is strength","wold peace is near" nonsense, its like nails on a chalkboard for me.
But I still watch some of his chainsaw vids...
I guess both saws stock a 394 would be a clear winner.

Are they alloy or plastic, could you add a scrench holder / sleeve / clip to them,
could be another selling point.

I couldn't hold onto one of them saws long enough to make me tired,
strong goers indeed.

That's not actually a Christian view he is portraying, the end times are on the way, and with them a lot of pain not peace, if it happens in our time, the peace will come later and we won't be alive to see it.

On the other hand, if you are not a Christian, maybe hearing his words and
digging to make sense of them makes his speaking them exactly what you need
to kick start you on a different path, in any event he is a Christian, and sharing the
word of Christ is what we are told to do.
However or whenever world peace comes, there is no harm in living and encouraging each other
to live in peace.
