Haven't read every poast but I think I've read enuff to get the gist. If the SOB didn't at least acknowledge who the saw was from, whether one or a collaborative effort from two or more, and who provided the top cover and how folks might go about getting a high quality cover that is OEM NLA...Got damn if I wouldn't be on his ass to get my saw back. Just a slap in the face as he definitely knows you Mattyo have ties here, and he's laying low so OPE never gets mentioned, the riff raff with that fat POS IronTurd and Randy, and the cylinder bullshitt he tried to pull, etc, etc. He knows exactly what he's doing. Get the saw back from the ungrateful *f-wordin' Billy POS or whatever his name is!

Man this makes me itch to get my 288 together. I think I have two cylinders, one with a broken fin…might try porting.

But anyway, got to thinkin’, a 288 is supposed 6.1hp, 394 7.1. @Red97 could probably tell us tq. Assuming a porter is quite good and makes 25% increase in hp, that’s 7.625…but the 394 has been tweaked, I think more than Billy says…and the 288 wasn’t broken in yet. So the chances of the 288 out cutting the 394 seem a bit slim. The fact that it hung close is pretty cool. I think somehow billy missed the point of the high top and got distracted by the “challenge”.

I had a light muffler mod 394 on it was 7.2 ish hp. Not had a stock 288 on the new dyno system.

I watched that video and to be honest if you read between the lines, Matt's 288 was never going to get a glowing review. All he did was talk about how worn out the 394 was and blah blah blah. It was a hit job on the 'forum guys' of which he seeks not to ever make friends with. How he canned Hi-Top covers over & over was almost to ensure they were not promoted in any way shape or form. BBR would be watching this thread garaunteed having a chuckle. That 288 was a nice strong saw and I feel for Matt and those involved. Ya'll did something nice for someone who sadly was NEVER going to do you any favours. Watching that video left a sour taste in my mouth and should be a reminder for anyone thinking of doing something similar.

Mattyo can do whatever he wants with whoever but around here his name is GOLD based off years of trust and positive relationships. He's come up with many clever solutions to tricky chainsaw problems. I'd stick to guys you trust where your friends are who will support your tools & products. Too much bad blood combined with ego's with the YT hero preacher crowd.
