I got a 029 w/a 390 Chinese top end, muff mod & timing advance. Runs OK till you really put it in wood, does not have the torque that I would expect from that size saw. Think I'm gonna put 325 chain back on it and see how it does. Will likely pull that a lot better.

Saw runs nice. I did a muffler mod and readjusted the carb a little richer on my 029 several years back. It really woke that saw up. Made a big difference. It has treated me well in the past. The only gripe on these saws is the CLAMSHELL!

Looked like you used a hammer on that muffler! LOL. It all works out in the end. Its all good.
