When I Worked at a custom cowboy boot/cobbler shop we would use 3m contact cement to adhere the rubber vibrant like soles. The key to making it work was letting it tack up like you’re supposed to before sticking together, and then clamping down pressure on the sole. Not an easy job with homemade tools. Then run the edge over a sanding drum to clean it up.

What type 3m contact glue did you use.

Next time, get you a boot dryer, they work great, use one on my hunting boots after crossing creeks alot.

My work boots go on the dryer everyday. Steppin in warm dry boots in the am is very nice. I had to buy a second dryer because my teenagers were always taking mine off to dry thiers.

I've used shoe goo brand glue and have had great success in the past. You have to make sure that they are dry and free of grease, oil, dirt and dust or it won't work out too well. The next step maybe some epoxy? That is use these options if you choose not to take them to a reputable shoe/boot repair place.

Shoe goo. Clean them. That’s important. Use a scraper to make sure you get a nice coating in the gap. Clamp then let em dry. They need to be clean. Then I smear some on the outside over the repair

Agreed on the Shoo goo. I've used it a number of times for sole reattachment. It's never let me down. As said above, clean, dry and pressure while curing are mandatory.

That seems quite reasonable. I haven't had time to try to find a place to do it for me

I just had a pair of Chippewa glued. $15 at a shoe repair place.
Just curious did they re glue the whole sole??? Reason I ask. I have a set of new Chippewa boots that are able to be re soled for sure. My red wings on the other hand are not. I honestly have no real idea what that means Just know the Chippewas are able to have a brand new one put on. My red wings apparently cannot

Yeah he put a new midsole in and glued the old sole. New soles are around $35-50 depending on which pattern

Those are a nice pair of boots. They actually make those same boots for the military along with many others at a boot and shoe factory in Roaring Springs Pa not far from where I live. You can find some great deals at the company's outlet store.

Those are the USMC “Issue” boots (notice where it says Marine on the label). Decent boot but the sole seperating has been a notorious issue. They used to be proudly made in USA but the past few years quality has gone right down the toilet. You can try the warranty through Danner, but I believe its only a year.

A cobbler properly gluing and re-stitching the sole is your best bet.

Also believe it or not super glue does quite the good fix as well! "Semper Fi"brother! Are you currently active? I see that in your info it says Camp Lejeune for your place of residence.

So...

I needed my boots dry fast, I decided the wood stove would be perfect but apparently i.put them too close. The glued sole is separating now. Can I fix it? Are they junk? I paid way too much to just trash them.

Most of the USA made Danner boots are recraftable. I’ve had them rebuild boots for me in the past and they do great work

Danner will repair them if you can't find someone local. Those probably have the Vibram sole (not the kletterlift style with little crosses) and should be recraftable. I have a local place that has put three pair of soles on some Danner Ft Lewis boots I love. I have sent my woodland fire boots to Danner for recrafting because we sent five pair in at once. I'm not sure what they charge, but local would be cheaper.

Years back, My Red Wings were re-soled by Redwing or some Chinese outfit. When asked if it would be of US of A parts and labor they got a little quiet. The quality was not there.
Something about these new
(s-word) Chinese boots and the soles falling off...

I've had the best luck using regular Gorilla glue and spring clamps.Ihave used it on rubber boots with rubber patches to fixin splits in soles like OP has. Give it a try chit works and will last for years.

I am active, at least for a few more months.
